Labour Market Inventory 2009
This Labour Market Inventory focuses on the 6 main sectors of the Thunder Bay District (Mining, Forestry, Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation and Knowledge-Based). It has been compiled from 225 telephone surveys with unemployed and underemployed workers as well as 125 telephone questionnaire with employers within the Thunder Bay District. This data was supplemented with one-on-one interviews with employers, local economic agencies and sector associations as well as secondary research from published sources. Altogether, these sources of data have combined to create the 2009 Labour Market Inventory for the District of Thunder Bay. We trust you will find much valuable information in this document that will assist in economic and workforce development throughout our District.
The document has been divided into three sections for your convenience:
1) The Summary Report (2 MB) is a condensed version of the Labour Market Inventory
2) The Main Report (5 MB) includes the Summary Report and a more comprehensive explanation of data.
3) The Technical Appendix (6.6 MB) is the comprehensive compilation of the data acquired from the telephone questionnaire, one-on-one interviews and other secondary research from published sources.
