Crystal Olson comes from an education and economic development background. She was born and raised in a farming community in Southern Ontario and moved to Northern Ontario in 2000. Crystal completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Bachelor of Education Degree at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay in 2005. Since that time, she has spent her career working and travelling across Northwestern Ontario in education, community economic development and workforce development. In 2018, Crystal was elected as a municipal Councillor with the Township of Conmee, which has been her home since 2008; along with her husband and two children, where they operate a small hobby farm. She has a strong desire to support community economic development in rural communities and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of the realities of living and working across Northwestern Ontario.
