Home What We DoLocal Board About

The Local Board program develops and improves resources at the local level to respond to labour force related issues.

Local Labour Market Information

Accurate, timely, and relevant information is necessary for evidence-based analysis and community planning. The Local Board is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information on the size of the labour force, migration patterns, business counts, enrolment in Employment Ontario programs, and more.

Supply and Demand

Understanding and anticipating the skills gaps, employment opportunities, and training needs will allow local institutions to build responsive education and training programming that will get people into the workforce. The Local Board engages with employers, labour, community leaders, education and training providers, and employment service providers to strengthen linkages among employment services.
